The Cojolya Association:
A collective of Maya Tz’utujil women weavers based in Santiago de Atitlan, Guatemala. The Association, which has been recognised as Fair Trade by the World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO), was created to empower indigenous artisans to improve their quality of life and the preservation of the art of backstrap loom weaving.
Why supporting women weavers is important to Laura:
Not only are the goods produced by the Cojolya Assosciation incredibly high quality, but they are more importantly ethically and consciously made and produced. Meaning when you own one of their artisan goods, you know you are supporting an incredibly important cause too.
